Weston Hayes

Majored in Intelligence & Security Studies
The Citadel, Class of 2019
From Angier, North Carolina
I am a full-time undergraduate student and cadet. I will graduate in May of 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts degree within two majors. I am a double major in Political Science and Intelligence and Security Studies. After Graduation, I will commission in the United States Army as a 2nd Lieutenant with hopes of becoming a Military Intelligence Officer. I serve the company of Palmetto Battery as a cadet 2nd Lt and hold the title of Gun Platoon Leader. My other cadet mission is during football games, where I oversee the firing of cannons when the football team scores. I currently serve as an intern with the World Affairs Council of Charleston (WACC). I am the current president of the Intelligence Club at the Citadel and a member of the Company Community Engagement Council (CCEC). I serve the Charleston community through service learning and civic engagement. I have done so by utilizing my summers to grow connected with community partners such as Camp Rise Above (CRA) who build the confidence in children with disabilities and mental illnesses and James Simons Elementary (JSE) who use after school programs like Kaleidoscope to give every student a chance at learning. I am a fan of the National Football League, rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles. In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym or reading. I like to read about the history of Intelligence and want to keep up to date with current events.
