My name is Yostin McKelroy, and I am originally from Venezuela, South America. I am technically trilingual; however consider myself fluent in Spanish and English. I have lived in the United States since 1991, and I am a proud citizen of this country. This is now my home. I am happily married to Jeff McKelroy, and we have an awesome boy; his name is Connor. We are residents of Hernando, MS. I love my family. They are my gifts from heaven. I discovered as I translated for a Dr. Charles Ryan, OBGYN, that nursing was my calling. So, I decided to pursue college. It was a very intimidating experience for me. I wondered if it was too late. As I prayed for God to guide me, He made clear nursing was where I was meant to be. It has been a hard road, yet so rewarding. I want to be a light for sick in their darkest hour. I want to take good care of my patients, and be kind to them. No matter how old, young, how sick, nationality, age, or gender; no matter what they can do or say, God loves all the same way. They all have great value in His eyes. My dream is to finish the ADN program, pursue my BSN degree, and obtain a masters degree in nursing. I would love to be a nurse practitioner, and/or teach nursing school. I have placed my dreams in my Lord's hands. It is all up to His perfect will. I pray for strength, wisdom, joy, peace, and the ability to learn and pass my tests exceedingly; but most of all, I want to stay humble through this journey and always be ready to learn something new.
