Ashley Forbes

I am an inner-city special education teacher at Stambaugh Charter Academy in Youngstown, Ohio. I attended Youngstown State University from 2015-2017 to earn a Master's degree (Science of Education/Special Education). My licensure areas include Pre-K to grade 3 in early childhood education and grades K-12 Intervention. I am seeking an endorsement in reading as well as an interest in pursuing my PhD in Teaching and Learning with a focus on Special Education. Prior to earning my license and job position as an Intervention Specialist, I worked for six years at a campus based daycare with ages 6 weeks up to age 12, as well as having worked two years with Youngstown City Schools as a third grade reading interventionist and lead teacher in the after school program for grades 4 and 5. I made a sole decision to leave Youngstown City Schools after House Bill 70 was signed into law.
