Alexandria Skinner

I'm currently a student at Berry College. I am studying for my BA in music performance, specifically flute performance, and a BS in physics. After that my goal is to obtain my masters and then my doctorate in a physics related field. I hold two, on campus jobs at Berry.First, I help to coordinate the middle and high school mathematics contests held each semester on campus. My job includes researching and writing possible exam questions and organizing all of the registration information that comes in. I also help to administer and proctor these contests. My second job is in the physics department at Berry, I am a lab assistant for the Physics 112 and 212 classes so I set up all of the labs for these classes. We are also currently reorganizing much of the department and part of my job includes organizing and doing inventory. I've had prior experience working as cashier at McDonalds and as a secretary and at Music Authority. At both of the jobs I gained a lot of experience with customer service and working under pressure and time constraints. Through Girl Scouts and volunteering as a tutor with Next Generation Focus I've had a lot of experience working with children and leading programs and events. In spring of 2014 I organized Next Generation Focus's annual benefit concert which included but is not limited to finding local businesses to donate food, equipment, a space for the concert, etc., finding musicians to volunteer their time and perform, PR for the event, and handling the donations that came in. As a Girl Scout I have worked as a camp counselor for the past 5+ years and participated in many volunteer activities with my troop such as the Lake Lanier Shoresweep. I am a very goal oriented worker and work well under pressure and stress. I enjoy leading projects and gaining new experiences, I work well alone but can, and often do, work in groups to achieve a certain goal.
