Two of the highlights of my SDSU education were a semester abroad in Auckland, New Zealand and a social entrepreneurship internship. Our small team of SDSU business and engineering students developed a harvesting machine and a successful business model to promote agricultural prosperity in Ethiopia. We also ensured the product's future by winning the grand prize of $10,000 in the USD Social Innovation Challenge. The teff thresher is successful to this day and has been featured in the San Diego Union Tribune.
