University Fellows Experience at The University of Alabama
The University Fellows Experience is a community of elite scholars from diverse disciplines who share a similar passion to being change agents through commitment to leadership and service. The University Fellows Experience participants are students with a true passion for service and leadership. They will pursue knowledge and action in the classroom, on the campus, in the community, and in the world. Mentored by top professors, supported by their UFE peers, and stimulated by world-class experts in many disciplines, University Fellows will enjoy the richest of college educations, will create enduring personal cultures of learning, and will embrace service to others as a guiding priority. My first year, I planned a project called Play at Perry Lakes for the Black Belt Experience aimed at stimulating economic growth in Marion, Alabama by using and enhancing one of their natural resources and attractions. My second year I researched the theory and application of making sustainable choices. I also conducted a research project called "Sustainable Sisterhoods: Recycling Attitudes and Behaviors in Sorority Houses at The University of Alabama."
