Projects, Publications & Classwork
As the Operations Director I had two very separate jobs entailing a wide variety of tasks and several different skill sets were required. As the Operations Director it was my responsibly to ensure that the event followed all of the guidelines that Iowa State University requires. I had to take the appropriate tests to have the ability to file each of the different celebrations that took place that week with Event Authorization, ensuring trademark rules were followed, recruitment of and schedules for volunteers with in the multi-faceted week of events, ensure all of my Student Leadership Team and volunteers serving food were Food Safe certified, only approved vendors were used. In addition to the tasks as the Operations Director, I also was the main creator of the life-sized Game of Life that took place in this years’ HSW18 for the HDFS event. Through the collaboration skills I have developed, I was able to work with faculty and staff to create the HDFS event from the ground up. This required me to have and use strong verbal and written communication skills to partner with faculty and staff members to ensure accuracy in content/components for the HDFS Game of Life event.
