I was born and raised in Cumberland, MD. My parents own and operate a restaurant in Cumberland. Growing up, I was exposed to experiences through the business that have shaped me. I learned how difficult it is to own and operate your own business, and how it can place financial and personal strain on a family. It inspired me to always do what I want to do, and to dream big. My parents have always allowed me to pursue my own dreams and interests. I am a Chemistry major with a concentration in Biochemistry with minors in both Biology and Psychology. I wish to attend Medical School and help those struggling with mental illnesses as I have personally struggled with anxiety and depression.

Gamma Sigma Epsilon

Gamma Sigma Epsilon is a Chemistry Honor Society that is nationally recognized. As an organization, we do various service activities. We collect canned goods every fall to donate to the Western Maryland Food Bank. We also donate a Thanksgiving Basket that includes all the food a family would need for a Thanksgiving meal. Our organization has been shrinking and visibility over the past couple years. I was elected President for the 2018-2019 school year and I hope to grow our small organization. I plan to organize a mental health seminar, as this is an issue that i personally feel strong about. Last fall (2017,) I was apart of the executive board that orchestrated an Opioid Addiction Awareness Seminar.

Various samples of water was collected from streams and rivers in Allegany County, Maryland. The samples were collected from fresh, clear, running water. The samples were then analyzed for various metals and minerals such as iron, calcium, and copper.
