Impact of Confidence on Supranational Policy Agendas
My capstone project at Nebraska Wesleyan University explored the role of public confidence in the agenda setting capabilities of supranational unions. This study uses a multi-method approach to compare the public confidence in the European Union with its South American counterpart, Mercosur. Focusing specifically on each union's ability to maintain democratic norms, this study finds a correlation between public confidence in institutions and the ability of supranational unions to set democratic agendas.
