Christopher Darling

Christopher Darlings work is heavily influenced by the aesthetic qualities of mixing analog media with digital. He is also influenced by his natural surroundings, often going into nature for creative inspiration. Christopher attended Bryant & Stratton College and earned an associates degree in the applied sciences with an emphasis on graphic design. He now attends the State University of New York at Oswego, pursuing a bachelor of fine arts in graphic design with a minor in art history. The artistic philosophy underlying all of Christopher Darlings work is that the art should be a reflection of the artist. Christopher believes art should show the artist's hands, showing that it was created by a person. Christopher's work has a handmade aesthetic. Christopher employs techniques of mixing media along with collage work in his designs. Throughout Christophers art, he tries to connect both analog and digital art practices to achieve the belief that art and design are one in the same. He does not believe in the division between the practices and believes with his work he can combine design and art. Art itself can be designed and design can be art.
