Majoring in Intervention Specialist - Moderate/Intensive
The University of Akron, Class of 2020
From Copley, OH
The oldest of 14 children, I've always had a knack for working with kids. I work as a behavior management aide at a special education program in North Canton, in addition to being a tour guide at a small science museum in Copley. Both of these opportunities have allowed me to develop my skills in teaching young people how to think critically and learn for themselves. I'm also active in my church and in UA's InterVarsity ministry. In the midst of all the busyness, I love nothing more than spending time with close friends.

Tour Guide Manager at Akron Fossils & Science Center
I work as a tour guide, as well as the manager of the information presented on the tours, both by the tour guides themselves and through the signage and displays. The Akron Fossils & Science Center is distinct from other science museums in its presentation of creationist theories alongside modern evolutionary theories. My goal, therefore, is to ensure that this information is shared and displayed to the public in a way that is objective, fair, and not heavy-handed or biased. Since I took this management position, the museum has seen a continually positive shift in the types of responses we've received to our controversial approach.
