Daniel Westerman

I am an associate behavioral health specialist in the Young Adult Men's Program at Caron. I function as a drug and alcohol counselor for young males typically aged 18-25 with the purpose of educating them on addiction in both individual and group settings. I facilitate family sessions, help create treatment plans, and assist patients in locating their next level of care. By working with these patients and families my goal is to have them understand what addiction is, how they are affected by it, and what they can do to lead healthy, sober lives.

As a member of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team for WellSpan Philhaven, I work with severely and persistently mentally ill adults, providing therapy. The majority of the work the ACT team and I do is in the community with clients, whether that be at their place of residence, the store, or a walk down the street. Part of my role as a social worker here is to advocate on behalf of the client, provide case management, and empower them to become appreciated members of society.
