The Student Systems Specialist is responsible for the day to day management of Ellucian’s Colleague Student Information System (SIS), website maintenance and report generation. Duties include responding to requests for ad hoc reports from academic and administrative departments by utilizing specialized query language within the SIS, testing upgrades to the SIS on a periodic basis and testing of any new features within the WebAdvising student portal, updating the Registrar’s website and making enhancements as necessary; creating and posting documentation for registration related procedures on the web, working with the Assistant Registrar for Registration in the management of information downloaded from the applicant portal, providing information to the Institutional Studies Office for completion of reports and surveys, and assisting students, staff and faculty by effectively communicating academic policies and procedures related to the Registrar’s Office mission. The Student Systems Specialist also assists with the following: production of the Academic Register including the implementation of web-based catalog management software, preparation of the final exam schedule utilizing specialized software, implementation and testing of new technology, completion of tasks during peak periods of the term, including but not limited to drop/add, transcript processing and miscellaneous data entry, and creating and testing of rules, restrictions and priorities for upcoming registration periods.
