Drew Seefeldt
I take pride in what I do, whether it be as a student, as an employee, a family member, or a friend. Rather than doing "well enough", I strive for excellence. I don't see obstacles as roadblocks, I see obstacles as a chance to practice what I know to solve the issue and a way of improving one's self. I have numerous talents, but my greatest talent is my ability to adjust and change. When a certain situation demands certain characteristics, I shape up to it by polishing my attitude and mindset, thus ensuring that the job is done in good hands. I also have good communication skills, especially in the arts of influence. Most importantly, I see the world for how it is, through clear eyes, and I don't allow personal situations get in the way of work and school.

In taking the initiative to put myself out there and become more active in the affairs of the very community with which I reside in, I am honored to announce that I am a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Emerging Leaders of Engineering, the ISU Speed Bike Club, and the ISU Air Soft Club. I am looking forward to doing the most I can for these institutions.

In recognition of my hard work as a student in high school, Iowa State University rewarded me with the following scholarships: Presidential Scholarship Award, Cardinal Award, and the George Washington Carver Academy Scholarship. I have won numerous other, smaller scholarships, such as the one I had received just this fall from my church community.

Although I am not currently involved in any research, I am definitely planning on doing so this very semester. Some of the research opportunities that I have my focus on include the Make to Innovate (M:2:I) program from the Aerospace Engineering department, and the research being carried out by the University Honors Program, for which I am a member of.

This very year, on the month of May, I graduated among the top ten percent of my graduating class of two hundred with a 3.9 GPA and a big smile on my face, excited for what is to come and proud of myself and my peers.

Throughout the vast majority of my high school career, I stood strong on the A-list, being recognized for maintaining an A in every class noted at the end of each semester. Even on the semesters that I fell short of the mark, I did not let it get to me, I just simply got back up from the ground and pushed harder.
