Emily Middendorf

Although I still participate in CCOR facilitations, or other diversity narratives on campus, I am now a student coordinator of this organization. I work on making sure that the logistics of CCOR are taken care of in a timely and functional manner. This title involves planning meetings with facilitators, creating events to encourage student sign-up and participation, leading and answering any questions that facilitators or participants may have, and working with Dean Joe Atkins on other projects (e.g. preparing a presentation on CCOR at Colby for the National Race Amity Conference). This position allows me to understand how a program like this works on campus from a different angle and allows me to have a greater role of leadership in creating these conversations. In addition, I also have helped to expand programming of events in CCOR including, but not limited to, a discussion series called "Political Dialogue NOT Debate" that consisted of student and faculty panelists discussing a range of topics from the presidential election results to the refugee crisis.

I currently work in the Digital Processing Center of Colby College's Special Collections Library. My job requires me to post and edit data and online information to multiple resource and research websites (i.e. Digital Commons and the Colby Special Collections website). I also assist in the design and publication of different online journals and communicate with others in the Special Collections department about ongoing projects. In addition to this, I help run the Colby Libraries twitter page.
