Research InternJune 2016 - PresentBeing an intern at FloDesign Sonics since June 2016 has provided me with the unique opportunity of making a project my own. FloDesign Sonics demands unorthodox solutions to problems and I believe that I have risen up to meet this challenge. I am presently doing a very involving senior design project at school with FloDesign Sonics being my corporate sponsor. My project involves the use of acoustics in liquids to segregate micron sized particles (micro-carriers) based on size. This has involved a thinking outside the box approach to research, conceptualization, design, production and testing. Being able to work with such groundbreaking technology has provided me with a great learning experience. I have had the opportunity to perform a significant amount of hands on testing which has helped sharpen my problem solving skills. Further, my project heavily relies on fluid dynamics and I have been fortunate to acquire a new skill of performing Computational Fluid Dynamics with COMSOL. Additionally, working at FloDesign Sonics has helped improve my skills with Matlab and Lab-View as well.
