James St. John

Hello, I am James and I have my B.S. in Physics from Adelphi University, I am interested in the field of optics, applied physics, and electrical engineering. I am currently a laser engineer at Photonics Industries working in their R&D department. I have two years of experience working in Dr. Matthew Wright's atomic physics laboratory in the Adelphi Physics department. I had the opportunity of working during the summer of 2017 at the University of Alabama for an electrical engineering REU with Dr. Todd Freeborn. I also have three years of hands on experience working as an electricians apprentice for St. John's Electric and I have leadership experience as the president of Adelphis Physics Club for the 2017-18 school year. I have developed a wide set of skills from my experiences, such as strong mechanical abilities from working with optics equipment and wiring commercial and residential buildings, problem solving from completing research projects, communication from working in teams in class and in the lab, and leadership abilities from managing physics club.
