Thesis Proposal
During the Fall of 2018, I wanted to do a project about food (in) security for my senior thesis. Over the semester, I took a course called ENVS 201: Research Methods. Over the course of the class, each student worked on writing their own thesis proposal. Although I later decided not to pursue this project in an academic setting, I valued gaining research experience, learning more about food (in) security, and gaining experience writing a formal thesis.

ENVS 191 Environmental Practicum SPRING 2018: Environment & Communications Field Research Project
ENVS 191 is a course that enabled me to reflect on my internship experience with the Green Schools Alliance over the past year. The following is a qualitative research paper about the communications field. “Communications” is a broad umbrella term for a wide variety of occupations interested in tailoring information, so a specific audience can receive the right message. In relation to the environment, this message may be that the natural environment is of great importance to the future of our earth and all earthlings. The following project dives into three occupations connected to communications and the environment: 1) environmental journalism, 2) environmental education, and 3) online development, communications and community engagement. The goal of this research is to understand how these fields of work are all connected to the communications field, how these jobs have uniquely affected the lives of their occupants and how to best succeed in communications.

A Bill to Feed Farming Viability
During a course called NR 104: Social Proc & the Environment students were asked to write an op-ed about a topic of our choosing. During this time, I felt very strongly about Farming Viability, and so I decided to write a piece about this issue as it stood in that current moment. I later published a version of this op-ed through my intership with the Green Schools Alliance.
