Julia Teumer

I was first drawn to the style of engaging, informative writing when I transferred to the Professional Writing and Publishing Program at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. I had always planned on becoming an editor, focusing on the minor details and grammatical correctness, but when I was introduced to the larger scope of the writing style, I quickly became interested in how information is collected and organized. I first put my editing skills to the test by volunteering for college publications, where I adapted to a fast-paced work flow and a creative design team. Then, I started interning at a catalog company, learning how to write product descriptions and tailoring my writing for different audiences. I also kept high academic standing while financing my college education, ending my college career with a 3.8 GPA and a BA with two majors: English literature and English in professional writing and publishing.
