Graduated summa cum laude from Youngstown State University in 1974 with BA in Anthropology and History. Received MA in History at YSU in 1977, and MA in Anthropology at SUNY-Binghamton in 1980; PhD in Anthropology from Ohio State University in 1988. Visiting Assistant Professor at Kenyon College, 1989-1996. Assistant Professor at College of Wooster, 1996-2001; Associate Professor, 2001-2007; Professor, 2007-present. Named Marian Senter Nixon Professor of Classical Civilization at Wooster in 2015. Chair of Archaeology Program at Wooster, 1999-present.
