I am a twenty-something student at Berea College located in Berea, KY. I am pursing a degree in Child and Family Studies with a concentration in Nutrition and Food Studies, in addition to pursuing a Health Studies minor. In 2015, while researching colleges to attend, I had one concern--where could I attend that would leave me with the least amount of debt? Luckily, Berea (Kentucky's best kept secret) is just a forty-five minute drive from my house. Berea College is a unique institution that has a no tuition-guarantee for students. Long story short, I ultimately chose to attend Berea College, but had no idea what I wanted to do with my life on move-in day. I soon realized that my heart felt drawn towards a career in nutrition, considering that it such a large part of my life due to an eating disorder in high school. As the saying goes, Choose a job you love and, youll never have to work a day in your life. That is exactly what I am doinguh, with one hiccupBerea college doesnt have a dietetics program!! However, I am a firm believer that I ended up at Berea College for a reason. I am not sure what steps I will have to take after I graduate from Berea to be an RDbut I am ready for any journey.
