Development consists of the acquisition and management of grant funding, and federal, state, and local compliance. Identifies new grant opportunities, researches agency and county eligibility, writes and submits all requests for funding, administers all awards, and makes recommendations on grant collaborations and partnerships outside the agency. Facilitator for Promotional Assessment Centers for Sergeants and Lieutenants via the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at UGA. This system is highly regarded for its tight adherence to reduced employment liability, and its systematic recognition of key promotable figures within the agency. Facilitator for Career Development Program orientation for newly hired non-certified officers as well as post-Field Training Officer Exit Interviews for both certified and non-certified officers. Works with Uniform Patrol, Support Services and Command Staff to promote program goals of opportunity, guidance, training, and accountability for both the officers and the agency as part of an agency-wide succession planning team. Represents police department on local and state committees related to county law enforcement initiatives including Homeland Security, Training, Use of Force, Sexual Assault, Underserved Communities, and Multi-disciplinary Community Coordinated Response. Special Projects consist of position papers, outside Grant instruction training, surveys, Internet research, press releases, agency comparisons, community outreach, or any number of timely investments. Editorial consultation to the State Certification Manager to promote sound policy and procedure within the department, in conjunction with county policy and state law. Provides editorial assistance or recommendations based on pending legislation and industry trends, which will improve present systems, cut costs in the long run, and keep operations up to date.
