Majoring in Health Behavior Science, Minoring in Sexualities & Gender Studies
University of Delaware, Class of 2016
From Wilmington, DE
Health, nutrition, and fitness have always been an important part of my life. In college I realized I could turn this passion into a career. I began working as a Peer Health Coach for the UD Healthy Hens where I was able to apply my skills and knowledge in order to help others reach their personal health goals. Encouraging people of all ages to lead a healthy lifestyle and believe in their own self-efficacy is my ultimate goal.
My personal belief is that a healthy lifestyle does not stop at nutrition and exercise. Health has multiple dimensions including physical, mental, spiritual, sexual, and emotional health. I believe maintaining a positive perspective on life, developing close relationships, and acquiring self esteem are just as important as eating healthy and working out. Because of this, I want to encourage health in all aspects of people's lives and hopefully influence positive changes in society.
After receiving my undergraduate degree in Health Behavior Science at the University of Delaware, I intend to begin a graduate program in Health Promotion also at the University of Delaware. After receiving my Master's Degree in Health Promotion and my Health Coaching Certificate, I will then begin looking into a career in the field of health promotion.
