Maritza Nassif

Working under a recreational therapist, expressive therapist and occupational therapist to run therapeutic groups for the patients ages 7 to 18. As an intern, I read patient charts, interact with them during groups, take attendance and write weekly progress notes on my assigned patients. I am responsible for setting up groups, cleaning up groups and participating in them. I have also recently started to lead my own groups including guided imagey, intern group, social skills group and self esteem groups.

Working in Blum Resource Center I have been working to standardize the way the center is organized and volunteers are trained. I carry out my own projects. Some of the projects I have done thus far include: - Creating a Volunteer Training Manual - Creating a Library World Step by Step How to Manual - Taking Inventory of all Books in the Resource Center - Creating Pathfinders for the Resource Center - Listing all the resources under each section. (e.g. Breast) - Helping to write proposals - Help Planning the Anniversary Event - Creation of New Books wall, Breast Cancer Awareness Display - Carrying out Junior Volunteer Gratitude Tree Project

Ask me - help families find their way around the hospital. Discharge buddy- help coordinate patients discharge from the hospital with nursing staff and patient and valet services. I helped train new volunteers for the Discharge and Ask Me Programs.
