Student in BSc Land Use & Environmental Management with Professional Studies (RICS accredited) Pending - Queen's University Belfast I am a very hard working and determined individual, demonstrated by the fact I went out and found myself a job at the age of fourteen. This has helped my confidence as I grew up and has allowed my managers to trust me more and give more responsibility as I was more experienced than many my age. As a confident person with an outgoing nature I enjoy interacting with others. As a result I have always settled in very quickly into any new situation and this has really helped me excel in customer-facing roles. I have enjoyed excellent feedback from managers and customers alike. Teamwork is a capability that I have developed in almost every situation I have found myself in both professional and educational environments, for example during large catering functions and group presentations and projects. This has enabled me to achieve the goals set for me in academia and in my volunteering roles, for example with the Order of Malta. Practical work has been a large component of my studies from A Levels through to University and has allowed me to develop many skills. These include survey techniques, statistical analysis and the production of an Environmental Management System for a business, assessing several aspects to keep harmful environmental impacts to a minimum. Other skills gained from my degree course include the operation of ICT based programmes such as Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and bibliographic databases along with information sourcing and synthesis as well as critical evaluation and decision making along with Microsoft Programmes.
