Ive served on the Athens Technical College Alumni Board of Directors for 5 years. I was born and raised in Athens, GA and a graduate from Cedar Shoals High school. I have 2 beautiful daughters and 1 son. I have 2 Associate Degrees of Science in Biotechnology and Health Science from Athens Technical College. I attended 2 years at the University of Georgia and 1 year at the Institute of Business and Medical Careers in Fort Collins, CO where I was chosen as the Student of the Quarter. Im also a National Certified Phlebotomy Technician. I became a chemical analyst III for Ethicon (Johnson & Johnson) during 2012. My work involves working with GCs, IRs, Instrons, Titrators, and auto viscometers. Im also working with a team of chemist to support instrumentation qualification and test method validation for our new facility in Athens, GA. In 2009, I was hired at the University of Georgia as a research technician. During my 3 years of experience at the University of Georgia I worked on a Department of Energy project fermenting cellulosic biomass to determine ethanol yields for biofuel production. From 2007 2009, I was a laboratory assistant at Northeast Georgia Medical Center for 3 years. I was a phlebotomy technician at St. Marys Healthcare Center from 2005 - 2008. I have 2 years of management experience as the Federal Work Study Supervisor and the MSDS manager. I have 3 years experience as Haz-Mat/ Right-to-Know trainer and chemical inventory specialist. Im co-author on 2 scientific publications with Baylor University in Waco, TX and USDA in Tifton, GA. Gardening and bowling are my favorite hobbies. My yard contains about 15 flower beds that I maintain from mid-Spring to late Fall. I bowl in a bowling league during the Fall, Winter, and Spring, at Showtime bowl if I'm not attending class.
