Nicholas Stark

Majoring in History
Lehigh University
From Philadelphia, PA
I am a developing historian with an M.A. in History (main field: Modern Europe, minor field: Revolutionary Atlantic) from Florida State University [2014], where I was part of the Institute on Napoleon and the French Revolution and I served as a research assistant to my adviser, Dr. Rafe Blaufarb. My thesis was on Irish revolutionary internationalism during the Revolutionary Era [1789-1815], entitled "The Art of Humbling Tyrants." Prior to that, I earned my B.A. in History (French minor) from West Chester University [2012], where I worked under Drs. Wayne Hanley and Cecilia Chien. I have internship experience with the Museum at Lukens Steel [2012], and serve as a volunteer with the Imperial War Museum's [UK] "War Diaries" project [2014-present]. I am a fellow of the International Napoleonic Society and the Massna Society, Inc., as well as an honorary member of the Napoleonic Society of Ireland and a member of the Phi Alpha Theta Honors Society, Nu-Sigma Chapter. I am a frequent presenter at the Consortium on the Revolutionary Era 1750-1850 and have presented at conferences across the US as well as in Canada and Ireland. I have published several articles and appeared a number of times on the Napoleon Bonaparte Podcast with historian J. David Markham and Cameron Reilly. Presently I am set to work in Philadelphia as an international student resident dormitory assistant with Archbishop Ryan High School before aiming to return to graduate school to pursue my Ph.D. in History in 2015.
