Nicholas M. Weddington

Majored in Robotics Engineering, And Electrical And Computer Engineering
Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Class of 2020
From Stone Mountain, GA
I aspire to obtain a dual major in Robotics Engineering and Electrical & Computer Engineering and use my knowledge learned at WPI to help change the world. Robotics Engineering focuses on electrical & mechanical engineering, and computer science, which are the three main components I need to invent any product that I desire. Electrical & Computer Engineering will provide me with the necessary skills to develop sensors and human-computer interaction devices. My goal is to graduate in 2020, earn a position with a global tech company, and acquire a masters degree in Electrical Engineering.

1st Place Great Problems Seminar The objective was to choose a water crisis and create a detailed technical plan to solve the problem. The problem we decided to address was the lack of potable water in Chennai, India. Because this was a country off the coast of India, we knew we could provide them with water at a reasonable rate somehow. Our solution was to distribute fog nets down the coastline that would trap the mist coming from the ocean, filter it, and create barrels of water for everyone to have access to it.
