Student at Knox College majoring in Undecided
Currently a sophomore in the liberal arts education program at Knox College, I am working on a physics major. My interest is to transfer into an engineering program. At the moment, this program has given me an opportunity to explore in other educational sectors apart from my academic and technical interests. Courses in sociology, religion, economics, and philosophy have broadened my perspective on the world.
In summer 2017, I got an opportunity to go back to Nepal and work as an intern in Karkhana. Karkhana is an educational company which has a unique approach to increasing STEM learning for children by using various simple and innovative projects to put the theoretical knowledge into practice. I helped in some of the classes like creative computing and clay animation. I also got an opportunity to attend MITs Internet Of Things workshop in which I had learned to make a fully automated Interconnected Embedded System with a Server-Side and GPS using C++/ Python. I had enjoyed the workshop as it made me realize that the right balance of coding and the concept of engineering can work wonders.
I am currently looking for a summer internship to get some hands-on experience and use my knowledge of physics, basic engineering, computer science and public relations in a STEM-related internship. I have been to different parts of Nepal including Lukla (gateway to the Mt. Everest) for hiking and other school activities. I have also been to China, India, Germany, and Thailand for cultural, educational and family visits. I have come across and enjoyed interacting with people having different lifestyles, cultures, and languages. It's always a pleasure to meet and interact with friends and new acquaintances. Everyone has a story to tell and so please feel free to say Hello..........Hello! Hello!
