I currently plan to become an actuary after graduation. For now that means focusing on learning the necessary skills: economics and finance, general business, and computer science in addition to math and statistics. In addition, I aim to pass at least three of the Actuarial exams for my Associateship in the SOA while in school.

Work Experience

Assembler at Generac Power Systems

I work on the manufacturing line for rotors and stators. After several months of work I have learned how to run most of the stations on the line and often sub in for others while they are absent. An Assembler's job is to maintain quality on the line while producing parts quickly. I did this by effectively communicating with my co-workers and running my station in an efficient and organized manner. I spent a lot of time training new hires until I started going to school and decreased my hours to part-time.
