Kelsey Smith

Majored in Sport Leadership & Management
Miami University , Class of 2017
From Maria Stein, Ohio
I am an incoming MBA/MS Sport & Entertainment Management Candidate at the University of South Florida. I will be moving down to Tampa in August, and will start my MBA then. I am currently interviewing for Graduate Assistant/Intern positions for my first year. During my second year, I will complete the MS portion of the program, while working as a resident for a local team/organization. I recently graduated from Miami University (Ohio) where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Sports Leadership & Management (SLAM). I was the Miami University's men's and women's swimming and diving Sports Information Director after being an intern for a year with Miami University's Athletic Communications department. In January, I was hired on by Front Office Sports to be their Minor League Baseball reporter. I also help with the FOS College Program by vetting and editing articles written by undergraduate students who want to get published on the website. This past summer, I was an intern for the Harrisburg City Islanders, an American professional soccer team based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and a member of the United Soccer League (USL). In the summer of 2015, I interned for the Hamilton Joes, a summer collegiate baseball team in Hamilton, Ohio. The team finished as the GLSCL runners-up. After I graduate from USF, I hope to work with a Minor League Baseball team and rise up the ranks to become a General Manager.
