Abhijeet Ajit Chordia
I am pursuing my Masters degree at Georgia Institute of Technology in Civil Engineering with specialization in GeoSystems (Geotechnical Engineering). I am currently working as a Geotechnical Engineering Intern (part-time) at PSI, Atlanta for the Fall 2016 semester until I graduate i.e. December 2016. I am open to relocate myself.
I have recently worked on developing an Analytical Model to understand the Rigid Pile Response in various aspects viz. soil layers, soil types and slenderness ratio. Through this project, I gained experience in calculating the load capacities of piles and determination of the load transferred through the top of pile to the tip/ base. With the help of coursework, research activities and laboratory practices I have acquired technical skills that can be implemented on the project site as well as in the office. In addition to this, I have a good grasp in In-Situ testing. I have experience to work on a construction site and thus I am familiar with the environment. In my undergraduate classes, I developed a laboratory model to demonstrate liquefaction. Through these activities my interest in geotechnical engineering keeps on growing and motivates me to learn further.
