Guitar Club
Guitar Club is an organization for students who want to improve upon their existing guitar skills, although beginners are welcome as well. The club is open to students in grades 6-12, and meets in room 249. The club focuses on the appreciation, history, and further study of the instrument. This includes the study of guitar players, strumming, and technique.
Faustino
Faustino Club is open to students in grades 9, 10, 11, and 12. Its purpose is to explore vocation to religious life and the priesthood, with a particular emphasis on Marianist religious vocations. Faustino Club meets once a month, after school, for about an hour. A typical meeting includes prayer, an article or video about religious vocations, a question-and-answer period. In addition to regular meetings, Faustino Club participates in service events, Evenings of Recollection, and field trips to different religious events or exhibits.
XLT Band
Adoration is led by the XLT Band. The XLT Band is composed of students in the high school who lead song (vocally and/or instrumentally). Auditions are held yearly for the group. The XLT Band meets to rehearse every Wednesday after school. In addition, the XLT Band provides music at regular student masses.
Gregorian Consortium
The Gregorian Consortium is an activity that enables the students to grow in faith through their expression in song. A select group of students are chosen to lead liturgical events throughout the year such as school masses and prayer services. The students are exposed to the make up of the liturgy, especially the origins of prayers and rites that comprise the mass. The students are also trained as cantors. A major goal of this activity would be to help the students to see the evolution of Christian music and to provide a practical application through singing and playing music.
