The University of Iowa student accelerator program is offered through the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center and aims to accelerate the startup process and increase the chances of success by providing students with adequate resources and guidance. - Gaining experience in developing a startup company - Developing real estate investment and property management skills - Executing business model concepts and develop a deeper understanding in accounting, taxes, and IP and funding issues. - Pitching investment proposals to audiences of angel investors in order to strengthen the company's financial status and drive future business growth - Competing in business development competitions to accumulate monetary rewards - Meeting frequently with industry professionals and mentors who help oversee the startups progress - Sitting in on lectures regarding startup development and investing strategies

As an intern, I am given a fair range of autonomy and responsibility as I build skills in enterprise account management: -Opportunity to participate in ongoing training over the course of the internship including: Job Shadowing, LiveMeeting, Webinars, Online Training Modules, Vendor-Sponsored Events, and regular conference calls - Work closely with customers at the department level to provide a better understanding of CDW's offerings, internal systems, and processes. - Focus on building existing relationships with IT professionals within the University of Iowa in order to increase CDW presence and identify larger IT opportunities. - Research and identify campus structure as it pertains to Information Technology - Provide on-campus support to our existing customer base while discovering and developing new relationships and business opportunities
