Alicia Ryan

After a fifteen-year nanny/house manager career, I decided to transition to a new career path. As someone who has worked in domestic services, I know firsthand that employment laws often do not cover the most vulnerable among us. With this knowledge, I plan to pursue a career in advocacy for better employment laws, not just for domestic workers but for all American employees. I work with the Upton Planning Committee, Inc. as a fellow from the University of Baltimore. This fellowship has taught me many aspects of advocacy through non-profit work and has allowed me to assist an underserved community in Baltimore City. In my free time, I love to read and write. I have completed five full-length novels, though I have not published any of them. I also enjoy traveling with my husband and daughter.
