Andrea Gils Monzon

Driven and career-minded public relations pre-professional with agency experience seeking to build a career in an agency or corporation that works with Spanish and/or Portuguese-speaking audiences and where ethics, diversity and excellence are valued.
I'm looking for an organization that fosters professional development and personal growth.

Transplant from Uruguay and moved to the U.S. in August 2011 to pursue dual degree in public relations and journalism.

I am involved in several pre-professional organizations with high leadership positions in the public relations student-run firm Riverfront PR, student-run newspaper Arrow, PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America) Chapter at Southeast Missouri State University, PRSSA National: Diversity and Ethics subcommittee, and Society of Professional Journalists.

I advocate for the public relations profession through many avenues, including PRSSA and blogs. 

I have experience in leadership, mentoring, design, media relations, event planning, account and team management, social media for small businesses, feature and news reporting, and Associated Press Style. I also have experience in teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and Spanish to non-natives.

As a Spanish, English and Portuguese speaker, I wish to build my career in a company where I can best put my language skills and world-wide traveling experience into practice. I look to build a legacy in the company I work at as well as making a difference in people's lives, while upholding to the highest ethical standards in the profession.
