Olympia Snowe Women's Leadership Institute

OSWLI is a 3 year high school program in which young woman in Maine are able to learn about their leadership skills. The program is split up into 3 years covering different important skills: My Values, My Voice, and My Vision. Through OSWLI, I was able to meet hundreds of other girls throughout Maine through forums, along with many different business people. The program is very helpful with learning how to be an adult in the world and network with people.

Student Senate

I participated in the BAHS Student Senate all 4 years of high school. We planned events such as Homecoming and Semi-Formal Dances, service activities like "Turkey Day" where we would have the whole school compete to see which class could bring in the most non-perishable foods, and more. Along with hosting fun events and fundraisers, we also listened to and were active voices of the student body.

Peer Leadership

Peer Leadership was a club that provided students with an opportunity to do a plethora of service activities within the community. Through this club, I helped with events in Belfast such as the Waldo County YMCA annual Halloween Party, Cross Country Festival of Champions, Thanksgiving and Christmas food boxing, and more.

Get Lit! English Club

The English Club provides a place where people of any major(s) can come together and share their love of literature and English. We host events such as BlueBlack open mic night where people can come and share pieces of their own writing. We also participate in many events such as book swaps, reading events and more. There is also a literary magazine, "Crosscut" that showcases student's creative writing.

Summer Camp Counseler/ Afterschool Childcare Worker at Waldo County YMCA

I started at the YMCA as a volunteer and worked my way up. I work during the summer as a camp counselor and during the school year in the after school program "Bus Stop Care". During the after school program, we provide the children with an opportunity to play and learn with students from other schools. They have table top activities along with gym and outside time.
