Arthur Carter, Ph.D.

Dr. Carter has a Ph.D. in Business Information Technology from Va Tech, an MBA from Va Tech and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from ODU. He is a Professor of Computing and Information Sciences and is currently serving as the Interim Dean of the Artis College of Science and Technology at Radford University. Dr. Carter has taught extensively in the Information Technology for the past nineteen years including programming, database, networks, decision support systems, management information systems, security management and web development. Dr. Carter is the lead instructor in the management of information systems security content area. Dr. Carter led the schools efforts to create its new BS in Cybersecurity degree program (the first at a public institution in Virginia). He recently led the effort to get the initial ABET accreditation for the Cybersecurity degree as well as re-accreditation for the Information Systems and Computer Science programs. Dr. Carters other work experience include working for the Department of the Navy as a Nuclear Shift Test Engineer for the A4W reactor plant and as a production manager at in the newspaper industry.
