Ashley Chea

All my life I have been called a leader, and because of that I began to think and act like one. I was Secretary of Mu Alpha Theta and the Science National Honor society in my high school. They were both very important roles because people came to me as the voice of reasoning before they went to the president and it was my job to effectively direct the information to the president. As I began work in the real world I learned that in order to be a good leader you must be a good follower and because of that my leadership skills have improved greatly. I owe all my success to God, my mother and my constant drive to not be a statistic of what a typical black woman in America is. My drive alone makes me stand out and my passion for what I do is unmatched. With my education in Neuroscience and Psychology I plan on educating people on what really goes on in the brain & what stems issues like 'mental health' that this world faces on a daily basis. I also want to stretch my education to 3rd world countries starting with mine, Liberia. I want to educate young students on how the brain is a major key to success because it processes your thoughts into actions which turn into life changing situations. My passion stems from always being known as the girl who thinks outside of the box and comes up with crazy ideas that are beneficial. It also stems from watching the creativity of others come alive through visual expression. My ultimate goal is to not just be a Neurosurgeon that works on brains but it's to be a Neurosurgeon who is working to better the function of ones brain for a better tomorrow. Thank you.
