Through many of my time at the University of Iowa, I have chosen jobs which would best facilitate my education. For instance, I worked as a wilderness trip leader and educator during my first two years of college during the off cycles of school. The experience of this gave me insight into education and the ability to communicate unique skills of canoeing and living in the wilderness. I also was able to educate my self in facilitation techniques through my career and changed the way I choose to communicate with others. A second job that I have had the opportunity to experience was being a driver for CAMBUS. For CAMBUS I was able to drive city transit buses, and driving buses is hands down fun, no doubt about it. On a serious note, learning to drive a bus was challenging and helped me discover a new way to learn. Secondly, working at CAMBUS has made me adaptable to various schedules and work environments as our service would run up to 21 hours a day through the week. With these experiences, I have hope that they can translate into a number of different work environments.
