I have a unique background in that I joined the Army right out of Berea High School in 1983 and served 6 years on active duty in Bamberg, Germany and Ft. Benning, GA as an Intelligence Analyst and then 3 years in the Ohio National Guard from 1989 - 1992. While in the National Guard, I began my transition into a career in banking and finance that lasted for the next 20 years. During that career, I held positions such as: Branch Manager, Business Banking Officer, Loan Officer and Financial Adviser. Then the economy collapsed in 2008 and I was forced into early retirement. Not wanting to retire, I reenlisted in the Army intending to complete 20 or more years of service but I only served from 2008 - 2013 at Ft. Bliss, TX because I was retired due to injuries that I sustained while on duty. My rank upon retirement was Staff Sergeant (E-6). While on active duty, I earned a degree in Intelligence Operations and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA. So far, I am maintaining a 4.0 here at Baldwin Wallace as well and I am pursuing a degree in National Security with a minor in Business Management as a compliment to my Intelligence degree and experience. Once I graduate, I intend to seek employment with the FBI, CIA, Homeland Security, or DIA. Honorary BW Fire Fighter

A fire started in the wall by the elevator in Bonds Hall due to oil leaking onto frayed wires and I ran over to it and put the fire out with my hand. I was thinking that a burn on my hand would be far better than the whole building burning down. There was no time to do anything else without it spreading uncontrollably. What a disaster that would have been!
