I am currently a third-year student at SUNY Geneseo, where I am majoring in English with a literature specialization, as well as a second major in French. My minors are Linguistics, Musical Theatre, and the Edgar Fellows honors program. During the semester, I work in the student life department as a Townhouse Community Organizer, which is similar to an RA position with added administrative duties. Over the breaks, I am a legal assistant at Ahearne Law Firm in Warwick, NY. After graduation next year, I will be applying to PhD programs to pursue becoming an English professor. I was formerly the managing editor at an online poetry publication, The Ellis Review, and a customer service representative at State Farm Insurance.

Work Experience

Townhouse Community Organizer at SUNY Geneseo

In the TCO role, I perform the functions of residential assistants in addition to administrative tasks such as coordinating repairs with our facilities team, serving on a board to plan events that prepare students for life after college, and rotating between two other TCOs for week-long on-duty sessions during which I am expected to be available 24 hours a day. I am also involved in the student conduct process both in this role and on small conduct boards. I am a constant resource for our upperclassmen residents, as well as communicating daily with the other two TCOs, the facilities manager in our area, and our director from the student life department.

Legal Assistant at The Ahearne Law Firm, P.L.L.C.

Over the breaks, I work as a legal assistant at Ahearne Law Firm, where I have many administrative duties. I am primarily involved in the process of closing out cases after they have reached a settlement. To do this, I identify and organize the physical files, scan them into our system, sort them into the proper location, and then shred the case after it has been saved if the client does not want their physical files. I also answer phone calls from clients, prepare binders of documents for court appearances, and make errands for the office as needed.
