The award winning Carroll News is a weekly newspaper released free of charge to the JCU students and staff detailing the events of the week. Editors are responsible for finding and distributing stories to their reporters, as well as create layouts and maintain edits to ensure that the final printed copy is as close to perfection as possible.
Students involved in the Arrupe Scholars Program all have one thing in common: a deep love and passion for social justice. Arrupe Scholars perform weekly service as well as coordinate numerous events both on and off campus to promote social justice and help the greater Cleveland area through solidarity, including an annual Fatima 5k and Food drive and a Hunger Banquet.
The Society of Professional Journalists aims to encourage the skills of tomorrow's media representatives. Each year, the group tackles an important issue being covered by the media at that time and delivers a panel open to the rest of the John Carroll student body, as well as the surrounding citizens, to go further in depth to with that issue.
Tour Guides actively teach patrons coming to learn more about fossils and creation by giving multiple tours throughout the day. They must be comfortable with all information revolving around the fossilization process, dinosaurs, geology, astromony, as well as intelligent design and biblical history.
