College Mentors for KidsCollege Mentors for Kids is a program that pairs a James Madison University student to a child from a local elementary school in Harrisonburg. We spend 2 hours each Tuesday doing hands on activities and teaching our "little buddies" about a variety different subjects. We have a college question of the day, activities and journaling time. My little buddie's name is Aubree. I have a wonderful time participating in this program.Added by ChloeExpand ▾

4-HSecretary, President4-H is a wonderful club that strives to engage youth in a variety of different activities (Public Speaking, Leadership, Community Service, Agriculture, STEM, Health etc.) I started this club in 4th grade. I became very involved in the public speaking, leadership, and the community service aspects of this club. I participated in presentations on topics ranging from, Photography, All About Olive Oil, Running Your First Half Marathon, and Making Your Very Own Heat Press T-shirt at the state level. I served as Secretary and President of the Abingdon High School 4-H club and Virginia 4-H State Secretary. I volunteered at the Washington County Fairgrounds and as a 4-H Camp Counselor. 4-H was an amazing organization that allowed me to become a more involved citizen, and make some of the best friends imaginable.Fall 2013 - Spring 2017Added by ChloeExpand ▾

Art Portfolio ClubTreasurerEach year, Abingdon High School's Art Portfolio Club received photographs of orphans. The years that I participated, the photographs came from Nepal, India, and Bolivia. Each person in the club received a photograph and created a portrait to send back to their child, along with a letter and a picture of themselves. It was a wonderful club.Fall 2013 - Spring 2017Added by ChloeExpand ▾

I worked at Abingdon Olive Oil Company. I gave tours to people that taught them about the history of olive oil and all about the benefits of olive oil and vinegar and how to use them in a variety of dishes.
