Connor Severance

Majored in Accounting/Finance
Southern New Hampshire University, Class of 2020
From Milford, New Hampshire
I'm a graduate of the Accounting/Finance program at Southern New Hampshire University. What drives me is the goal of providing financial statement users with relevant and faithfully representative information that can be used in their decision making process. Also, I'm passionate about having a material impact on people's lives and helping companies save money. I have taken several Financial & Managerial accounting as well as finance courses. This helped me gain a better understanding as to how financial information can be used to help businesses in their everyday interactions. I plan to use this information, coupled with my extensive customer service experience, to help businesses record/process activities, and make educated financial decisions.

Target Case Study
Our group was tasked with finding a way in which Target could better leverage technology to deliver an easy and inspiring digital food experience, fulfilling the guest’s needs for their everyday essentials in a way only Target can. Intern, we came up with three ideas for Target to implement. 1. A recipe feature for their Cartwheel App. This feature would allow Cartwheel users to browse/save Target created recipes and decide which one works best for their occasion. Also, this feature would allow users to see how much the recipe would cost them if they were to make it, and the nutritional facts involved with each ingredient used in the recipe. 2. An essentials pickup service. This service would allow Cartwheel users to write down basic food items like pasta, rice, cereals etc., add them to their cart, and have these items waiting for them at their local Target store for pickup. 3. An interactive couponing idea. With this idea, Target would hide holiday related items throughout the store (mainly in the grocery department) in which customers can find, take a picture of with their phone, and then share this picture on the Cartwheel App for access to a redeemable $5 gift card valid for the first 100 customers only. As a result, our group got second in this Target Case Study and won $250!
