Dorothy Gillespie
While I love that my biological name honors my grandmother, I have spent my entire life going by my middle name, Marie. I am a graduate from Pennsylvania State University with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in Religious Studies. I love traveling and learning about and experiencing new cultures, which led me to student teach in South Dakota where I taught at a Native American boarding school. I was hired out of college to continue to teach 5th grade, a position that I held onto for six years until I decided to switch things up and took over 1st-8th grade Computer and Technology class. I'm excited/terrified to say that this year I made another move and have taken over teaching Middle School Science. I also moonlight as a waitress to support my traveling habit and I spend my summers exploring or working and living in locations such as Mesa Verde National Park or remote islands in Alaska. I also come from a large family of adventurous people, so there is always someone to visit.
