Darcy Higgins

I am an environmental educator and current owner of "The Wild Wonder Project," an independent organization that connects children to wild natural spaces. Be it through collaborations with schools, community programming, or mentoring other teachers and parents, I work to integrate nature back into children's lives. No more "look, don't touch!" -- I want all our young people to have the chance to climb trees, roll around in the dirt, and have their watershed and bioregion be as meaningful to them as their city and state. Coming from a long background in writing and editing, I combine a skill at public outreach and PR with my in-person teaching skills -- a crucial combination in most environmental organizations today, where we must reach so many different people at once.
