Daryll Blackburn

Hi Y’all! My name is Daryll (I have a boy’s name but I am a girl- always have been) and I am 25 years old. I was born in New York City but lived in Michigan, Atlanta and then Savannah, where I stayed. My family originates from Savannah on my father’s side, and my mother is from the Czech Republic, making me “Southern Czech.” I reside in Richmond Hill with my fiancé/ best friend, my amazing 3 year old daughter, and my little dog Rocco (he thinks he’s big). I enjoy walking, jogging, beaches, good music, snuggling, reading, laughing, family time, studying our government’s justice system, reading (right now early English and American Lit and Philosophy- might be different next month though), learning, writing, politics, economics, equality, singing, playing piano, painting, and of course shopping (I am a girl after all!). I hope to one day use my BA to go to law school where I would specialize in troubled youth, equality, or environmental issues and solutions. My life was not always like this. I went through great personal struggle to arrive where I am today. But I have no regrets and with each great struggle came great victory. I have grown more confident and passionate, and have gained priceless perspectives. I know that in order to secure a better future for my daughter, and her family, that I must give a voice to those who are not able to speak for themselves. There is still much to be done to give our future a fighting chance and to give everyone a life that is worth living in harmonious peace and happiness.
