Undergraduate Research AssistantJanuary 2015 - PresentAs a member of the Drew lab, I am looking to locate and identify a gene that has not been identified in symbiotic clownfish that maybe a responsible for the mutualistic relationship. Using various genetic techniques such as inverse PCR and cloning, along with deep sequencing, I hope to identify this gene in symbiotic fish and a closely related non symbiotic species. Funded by the UMass Dartmouth Office of Undergraduate Research and the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Program.
