Senior Claims Resolutionist at Eaton Cooper Industries
Basic Function—To support FSS business units in the area of Deduction Resolution. Special emphasis is placed on the Lighting Business as we are responsible for 100% of their resolutions, where as other division’s only partial amounts of their work loads. The role provides continuous training to Accenture in claims management functions and to the divisions on problems solving techniques. Monitors Accenture’s claims posting accuracy. Strives to increase electronic commerce where possible. Provides guidance and training to all team members on Claims Management and Chargeback Resolution. Dimensions—Customer deductions for the US and Canada total approximately $319 million per year, and involve 15 distinct Cooper company codes. Deductions must be researched, then reviewed for legitimacy, accuracy and appropriate disposition. Principal Accountabilities: 1) Assist the Credit, Collection, Division Claims Teams, Division management or other Eaton staff in Claims management. 2) Take a leadership role in continued education of our third party partner (Accenture) in development and refining of standard rules, processes and procedures for first level research and resolution of customer deductions. Keep management informed on key problem areas. 3) For specified categories of deductions deemed to be of a more complex nature, perform all aspects of deduction resolution, including research and preparation of supporting documentation. These categories are specifically defined as out of scope for the Accenture team. 4) Review all customer deductions which have been deemed invalid by the Accenture team. Review to ensure: a. Completeness of research and supporting documentation package b. Appropriate analysis of collectability c. Accuracy of amounts deemed invalid d. Appropriate verbiage (spelling, sentence structure, etc.) 5) For some entities (currently Company Code 1030 Cooper Lighting and 2200 Cooper Industries Electrical-Canada), review all credits proposed by the Accenture team. Review to ensure: a. Completeness of research and supporting documentation package b. Appropriate analysis of validity of the deduction c. Accuracy of amounts to be credited 6) Prepare and maintain error log for Accenture, identifying root cause of errors identified and noted during review of proposed credits/chargebacks, and/or by review of test sample. Error log used by Accenture to identify users who need additional training, or problem areas where general clarification may be needed. 7) Take a lead role in the education of divisional claims resolution staff members regarding standardized rules and processes in order to drive efficiencies and develop best practices across all divisions. 8) Qualified to take on the more difficult Claims Resolution task with minimal supervision.
